. . . a "contraction doctor" that is! It was time for a little word surgery today! We turned our classroom into a surgical center and grabbed our surgical scalpels! We trimmed away those extra letters. Then we bandaged it back up with an apostrophe to make a new word -
a contraction! In art class this week, we used crayons and tempera to show subtraction. Ms. Williams featured our work on the school art bulletin board. Each student created such wonderful artwork!
Ms. McClure came and read a story to our class today. We earned 20 blue paw prints and our reward was a story! Ms. McClure read "The Scarecrow" - it is a beautiful book with a very special message about how important friendship is! Our class really enjoyed this book!
